IntelliMusic

I'd received a lot of feedback concerning the third installment of the SAPI tutorials - most people wanted to see the code. Well, unfortunately I'd lost the original code but had started on a bigger project - IntelliMusic.

IntelliMusic with Winamp

I've now discontinued the development of IntelliMusic but it has some useful features:
  • Allows you to play any artist or album in your "C:\My Music" directory.
  • Allows you to skip tracks, set the volume, fade out and execute numerous other Winamp commands.
You cannot change the music root directory (without recompiling), a lot my planned features weren't implemented and the program hasn't been optimized or documented. Nevertheless, I felt it was worth releasing "as-is" so people can learn from the code.

Requirements

  • Winamp (most versions supported)
  • SAPI 5.0 or 5.1
  • Visual C++ 6.0.
    Note: A binary is included but if you want to recompile you will need Visual C++ 6.0 configured for SAPI development and have the latest Platform SDK and SAPI SDK installed.
  • A lot of patience

Conclusion

Hopefully the code will inspire people to create a similar program or expand on IntelliMusic itself. I would be very interested to hear about any changes you make to IntelliMusic. Happy Listening!
