 Received word of two new AI competitions recently. Artificial Intelligence NV (the guys that are creating Baby HAL) told me they are sponsoring a competition to create an AI opponent for a game. Each entry will be played against the others and the best entry will win $2000. Sounds great - the details can be found here. I also received word of a new chatterbox competition that has around 40 entries from around the globe.
