Generation5 at ROBODEX 2002

By Darryl and Mari Matthews

ROBODEX 2002 was a largest ROBODEX yet. Robots from 27 different participants — such as Sony, Honda and TMSUK as well as numerous universities and govermental agencies. The ROBODEX 2002 Guidebook came packed with information on the many different robots, as well as a multi-region DVD with interviews, archives from the previous ROBODEX exhibitions and short data sheets on the prominent robots.

The star of the show was Sony's new bipedal robot, the SDR-4X, as well as the popular ASIMO (shown below). Other robots included the eye-catching Posy, the flower girl, Sanyo's new utility robot and a variety of technology demonstrators.

The ROBODEX site has webfeeds and streaming videos for you to look at too.
